Please remember "Freakish"

When my brother showed me this video (left this video up on the computer and then left) it was my first introduction to Saves the Day. This is one of the best music videos of all time.

Please remember Island of the Blue Dolphins

I read this Scott O'Dell novel in fourth or fifth grade. Or whenever my Lisa Frank/marine biology/dolphins are my favorite animal phase was, because I know I wanted to read it because 'dolphins' was in the title. I remember actually owning it so I bet I got it from a book order. Book orders were so awesome. Owning that book new made me not realize until today that it was actually written in 1960. Anyway, it's a good book and it won the Newbery Medal, so that's nice.

Please remember when Celine Dion tried her hand at reggae

Incidentally, this song is from the aforementioned Let's Talk About Love album which I finally listened to tonight and forgot that I wrote about.

Please remember Celine Dion's album Let's Talk About Love

This is the one that included everyone's favorite, "My Heart Will Go On." You know, the one with the black cover? I got it for Christmas the same year I got one of my Ariana books. You know, LDS author Rachel Ann Nunes? Anyway, all I can think of when I hear those songs is reading that book on my bed and being so into it and crying. Favorite songs: "Immortality" (featuring some of the Bee Gees), "The Reason," "To Love You More" (killer violin part), "Tell Him" (with Barbra Streisand), "Where Is the Love," "Miles to Go (Before I Sleep)," "Us"...oh, that's basically the whole album? I really need to find that CD.

Please remember that I got punched in the arm tonight for not updating this

Please remember TLC's "Unpretty"

"Unpretty" was the Billboard Hot 100 number one single in September 1999, preceded by Enrique's "Bailamos" and followed by Mariah's "Heartbreaker." As we can see, this was a great time for music. It was TLC's last number one single and the last video featuring all three members of the group. I listened to this song today for the first time in like eight years. I loved it then and I love it still. So empowering. You can buy all the makeup that MAC can make. I really do like what's going on here, and I remember thinking, yeah, why should I make myself think I'm not good enough? And then I remembered I was in high school.

On another TLC related note, one of my first memories of my new school when I moved in sixth grade was a classmate who loved TLC so much that she even had the T-Boz haircut. That girl really knew what it meant to combat unprettiness. We weren't really friends.

Please remember those milk mustache ads

You know, the celebrities with milk mustaches and arguments for why you should drink milk. I collected at least 30 of them and hung them on my closet door. I heard they got those mustaches using some sort of ice cream/milkshake concoction, but some prefer to believe it's Elmer's glue. Sorry, but I would never drink Elmer's glue no matter how famous I was.

Please remember Please Remember

I've been told I should apologize profusely for this hiatus. I apologize profusely.

Please remember the traditional definition of autumn:

When the leaves fall from the trees.

NOT when the snow falls from the sky.
